Unfortunately, it's tricky to syntax highlight those pages because WP strips out formatting tags when displaying the excerpts. I'm sure there might be a clever work around or hack, but I haven't investigated it yet. It sounds like you were possibly running into a conflict with Wordpress' XHTML validity cleaner. See the <a href="http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/wp-syntax/faq/">FAQ</a> to see how to turn that off, but your regex tweak is a fine alternative. Just keep in mind, that the original syntax is designed to hopefully gracefully degrade in the event you need to export your site elsewhere since it uses the <code>&lt;pre&gt;</code> tag.</p> <p>Then again, the problem might also be an issue with WordPress MU (multi-user). I haven't had a chance to test that yet. </p>
