You need to add a line of code to the index.php and archive.php files of your template so that they display posts in your specified order:
Open each of these files and find the line that reads:

WHAT LINE DO I LOOK FOR? = <?php while (have_posts()) : the_post(); ?>

Now, immediately before that line, paste the following code into archive.php:

WHAT CODE GOES HERE? = <?php query_posts("cat=".$cat. "&orderby=menu_order&order=ASC"); ?>

And the following code into index.php:

WHAT CODE GOES HERE? = <?php query_posts("orderby=menu_order &order=ASC"); ?>

I found the above scripts by going to Plugins in the admin section and clicking on Orderposts in the Plugins column(left most column)of the plugins table. The plugin has to be installed in order to do this. Once you click on the Orderposts you will go to the Orderpost home page with the full instructions including the script to find and the scripts to paste into the index.php and archive.php files.
