How do I use the smart code option?

Simply define the code you wish to use on your plugin settings i.e. {mysignaturehere}. Make sure you also specify the signature ID to use and save it. When writing content or a post simply put the pre-set code (i.e put {mysignaturehere} ) inside your post.
