This plugin is meant to fill the biggest hole in the tag manament page: the ability to combine two or more tags.

It works with custom taxonomies too.

Can I merge categories?

Yes, you can merge categories the same way you merge tags, by going to this URL on your site:

/wp-admin/edit-tags.php?taxonomy=category
