OpenID is very well thought out. I'd love to have a single signon for WordPress weblogs.

Oh yeah! I've gotta sign up for this!
There's already a WordPress plugin out there as well:

I don't think it should be integrated into core.
But I wouldn't mind seeing it bundled with the official releases as a plugin.
halla to my dowwgs
I'd much rather WordPress create an internal system than use some third-party system that has obvious flaws.
Ajd777: Based on the positive response to this idea so far, the flaws must not be so obvious. Why don't you elaborate?
This absolutely must be a part of core. The plugins currently available can't provide the same level of integration. Ideally I'd also like to see support for the Simple Registration Extension (http://openid.net/specs/openid-simple-registration-extension-1_0.html).
As the author of the plugin linked above (http://blog.verselogic.net/projects/wordpress/wordpress-openid-plugin/), I fully support discarding it entirely and building OpenID support directly into WordPress and WordPress mu.
If you think there are flaws in the OpenID system that are somehow not matched by equally damaging but different flaws in the current system, then you're misinformed or just stubborn.
Also see http://wordpress.org/extend/ideas/topic.php?id=199&replies=4, seems to be a duplicate
I'd rather have this optional.
