New User Registration Moderation

    I think registration moderation would be a great thing. However, it should have options to bypass for those site authors that don't pay daily attention, otherwise, new users can be left thinking things are broken.

    Sabre looks good at what it does but it doesn't appear to provide the core functionality being talked about here - the ability for administrator/s to approve or reject new users before they can comment.

    To echo others here I think this would be a very useful feature addition to wp. Interface-wise I would imagine...

    • another checkbox in Admin > Options > General saying 'Users must be approved by admin before commenting' (or similar), and
    • New users to appear at the top of the users page for admin to approve or reject (similar to comments moderation)

    This would be a very useful feature indeed. In fact, I have been looking for a plugin that does this, but with no success. There is not much use in users (apart from comment moderation) if anybody can register and automatically be approved.

    100% eliminate auto registration and add one click Approval and user notification to your blog registrations.

    This is an old topic with still no workable solution in the core WP code. However, this solution works - no extra meta fields just a simple fix.

    Check it out from the authors of the original v2.0 fix 12 months ago. New,bigger and better than before!

    I'm also someone who'd like that facility!
    So, just like comments, it will email you or whatever & let you know that there are users that need approving.

    If you need to moderate new users registration because of "fake" registrations, I wrote a plugin that prevent people to register with a disposable email address:
