Add option to show and hide child pages within the listing pages. This helps when the number of pages is too large or when the child pages also have daughters.

Now there's a simple idea that would just make plain sense and is relatively easy to implement.

Agreed. Add more hooks for plugin authors to customise the dropdown filters too. And drag and drop ordering?

  5. Fantastic idea Flavio. If I have a large number of child pages I find it hard to locate certain parent pages alphabetically (I'm talking 50+ child pages per parent page). Would enjoy seeing this feature added.

Yes, this is an awesome idea that I thought should be in core already. Pagination has always been a sore point when it comes to the wordpress cms. Obviously wordpress is rapidly evolving into a general cms rather than just a blogging platform that it was originally designed for. With this comes much larger websites and many more pages.

From an seo point of view, Google doesn't seem to like wordpress child pages and considers them to be more duplicate content that has a negative effect on rankings. Maybe having dynamic pagination that Google considers as part of the one primary page may be a good option to look at.

Only if you have the same content on two pages. There is no duplicate content penalty for subpages. That SEO info is incorrect.
