Individual Blogrolls by Category

   Categories should allow to get posts AND links. Owner of site may decide if to show the appropriate links category-wise or the usual full blogroll per page.
   This would mean, that link categories would be obsolete.

   Alternatively a solution for the same result would be to make link categories assignable to post categories.

   Great idea!
   Having said that they'll be obsolete, the categories function shouldn't be removed (because some old blogs are still using them)
