Idea: website owner enters data in form to update specific post or page

I can't figure out how to update data on a wordpress site using a form. I can use a form to send email, get stored in some sorted database, but I can't get a form to update information within one post or page.
For example, weather conditions, shop hours...
I want the conveyor of information to update a form and the receiver of information to read it on a post / page.

Ideally, this form would be on a page within their own site, password protected etc. Then the website owner would get to the form, enter data or change stuff, and hit submit. This form then changes the contents of a / multiple posts or pages

getting people to go into the admin area and edit posts is a bit daunting and has too many options for in-experienced people to do damage rather than good.

Yes, this is more of a CMS thing, but it would allow people to update things quickly on a site.

I could even see a "standard form entry system" being developed for Wordpress in general, and then various plugins would use the data from this entry system to run.

this is already possible, if you are familiar with php and wordpress code. assuming you aren't (as you would not need to post this), presenting it as an idea is pointless, as it would require some hand-coding anyways.
