For removed plugins; i believe plugin/theme update check system needs overhaul and dangerous plugin notification is really a good idea.

Maybe there should be at least a RSS feed with recently deleted plugins.

Hi Miriam & Ipstenu -- the core or plugin issue aside, I'd like people who leave a comment to be able to get an email that their comment was replied to (if they want one)

As far as I can see, neither WP.org core, nor the Jetpack plugin do this. If you use Jetpack AND you're logged in, it can use the notification bubble to tell you.

But if someone who isn't an active WP user visits and comments, I don't see a way for them to get an email that their discussion has been advanced, except by replacing the whole comment system with an alternate, like Disqus or Cackle etc

Am I missing anything?

(you could check "notify me of follow up comments" - but I think this isn't ideal, 1 - because you now get ALL comments to that post, not just to your own comment thread, and 2 - if you click that but take 3 hours to wander over to your email and say you really meant it, meanwhile your comment was replied to in 10 minutes, then you'll never get a message about that reply)

TY!

I think this idea is better suited for a plugin, but would definitely be nice if it could be integrated into core at some point. After all, we're in the notifications generation. Case in point: Facebook, Twitter, iOS, you name it!

I really think that WordPress is great right now but there's only one idea that I can't get out of my head. I would love the wordpress.com admin bar integrated with the standalone version. It's the live notifications I want from it. When a user comments on one of my posts it will show up in the notifications section.

Maybe you guys should build a optional like feature for blog posts. And do the same thing there with the notifications. Sorry for my stupid english!

You should take a look at the "subscribe2 plugin"
I use it on one of my membership sites to notify subscribers when something new has been posted. You can define the notification list to include whatever email addresses you like. By default, all new posts will be emailed to those addresses.
